Zur Abgabe mal wieder was schönes seltenes – Eine alte Höfner 172 aus dem Jahre 1961 im wunderschönen Nitro Sunburst mit eingeleimten Hals. Dies ist die Urversion der 172 und meiner Meinung nach auch die schönste Form dieses Models. Diese Gitarren sind noch aufwendiger hergestellt worden als die späteren bolt on neck Versionen. Der Hals ist absolut gerade, selbst die Bünde haben keine Abrichtung erfordert und das speziell designte Vibrato erledigt hier zuverlässig seinen Twang Betrieb. Ausgestattet mit den damals frisch rausgekommenen Höfner 510 „Diamond“ Pickups, die auch noch den Patentaufkleber auf der Rückseite haben, liefert dieses schöne Stück einen unglaublich rockigen Sound.
Die 172 ist von 1961! Entsprechend hat Sie Gebrauchsspuren! Es finden sich trotz des Alters dennoch Gebrauchsspuren auf Lack, Hardware und Kunststoff. Der Lack zeigt überall die typischen Nitrolack Haarrisse – Wunderschöne Patina. In der Vergangenheit wurde auf der Vorderseite außen irgendwelche Verzierungen angebracht am Korpus, die Rückstände sind leicht farblich noch zu erkennen. Die Rückseite ist komplett unberührt davon. Das mehrlagige Celluloid Schlagbrett hat Abnutzungen und Gebrauchsspuren, ist aber noch super erhalten und frei von Rissen. Alle Tonabnehmer funktionieren und sind im original Zustand, sowie jeder Schalter und Drehpoti. Die Elektronik ist ebenfalls Original.
Die 172 hat von mir eine umfassende Überholung bekommen. Der Lack wurde von mir umfassend gereinigt, desinfiziert und aufpoliert. Mechaniken wurden zerlegt, gereinigt, poliert und neu geschmiert. Allgemein jede einzelne Schraube. Vibrato zerlegt, aufbereitet und neu geschmiert. Gesamte Elektrik behandelt, gereinigt, geprüft und auf Erdung kontrolliert. Der Hals eingestellt für eine super Saitenlage. Griffbrett und Bünde gesäubert, behandelt, geölt und Geschliffen. Die 172 ist Bundrein und eingestellt.

Once again, something beautiful and rare is up for sale – an old Höfner 172 from 1961 in a beautiful nitro sunburst finish with a set-in neck. This is the original version of the 172 and, in my opinion, the most beautiful version of this model. These guitars were manufactured with even greater care than the later bolt-on neck versions. The neck is perfectly straight, even the frets didn’t require any dressing, and the specially designed vibrato reliably performs its twang function. Equipped with the then-newly released Höfner 510 „Diamond“ pickups, which still bear the patent sticker on the back, this beautiful piece delivers an incredibly rocking sound.
The 172 is from 1961! Accordingly, it shows signs of wear! Despite its age, there are still signs of wear on the paint, hardware, and plastic. The paint shows the typical nitrocellulose lacquer hairline cracks throughout – a beautiful patina. In the past, some decorations were added to the outside of the body, the residue is still slightly visible in the color. The back is completely untouched. The multi-layer celluloid pickguard has some wear and tear, but is still in excellent condition and free of cracks. All pickups work and are in original condition, as are every switch and potentiometer. The electronics are also original.
I gave the 172 a major overhaul. The lacquer and vinyl was cleaned, disinfected and polished up by me. The vibrato was completely dismantled, cleaned, prepared and re-lubricated by me. Runs nice and smooth. Mechanisms were disassembled, cleaned, polished and re-lubricated. Generally every single screw. All electrics treated, cleaned, checked and grounded controlled. The neck adjusted for a great action. Fretboard and frets cleaned, treated, oiled and sanded. The guitar is ocatve clean and setuped and plays beautiful with the strung on Pyramid Nickel Roundwound strings
