Der Höfner 182 – Moderner, spritziger Funky-Sound in seltenem Vintage-Weiß

Zum Verkauf steht ein wunderschöner, vollständig restaurierter und gut erhaltener Höfner 182 Shortscale Bass aus dem Jahr 1965 in der doch eher seltenen Vintage-Weiß-Lackierung. Mit seinem Gewicht von nur 2,7 kg ist er angenehm leicht und lässt sich auch über längere Zeit komfortabel spielen. Ausgestattet ist der Bass mit den berühmten Franz Pix 511b „Nova Sonic“ Staple Pickups, die genau den lebendigen, knackigen und unverwechselbaren 182-Sound liefern, für den dieses Modell so geschätzt wird. Trotz seines charakteristischen Klangs ist der Bass ein echter Allrounder und macht in nahezu jedem Musikstil eine hervorragende Figur.

Ich persönlich finde die weiße Ausführung des 182 wunderschön. Früher wollte ich diese Variante eigentlich sammeln, allerdings tauchten über die Jahre kaum weiße Exemplare auf. Irgendwann bin ich deshalb auf die deutlich häufiger erhältlichen roten Modelle umgestiegen. Umso mehr freut es mich, dass ich diesen wunderschönen weißen Bass restaurieren durfte.

Der Bass stammt aus dem Jahr 1965 und zeigt selbstverständlich die üblichen altersbedingten Gebrauchsspuren an Lack, Hardware und Kunststoffteilen. Der Originallack besitzt nach der Restaurierung wieder einen schönen Glanz auf Korpus und Hals, weist jedoch die für Vintage-Instrumente typischen Lackrisse sowie kleinere Dellen und Gebrauchsspuren auf. Das originale schwarze Celluloid-Schlagbrett glänzt nach der Restaurierung ebenfalls wieder wunderschön.

Der Hals-Tonabnehmer wurde von mir neu gewickelt. Meine Neuwicklungen erfolgen kompromisslos nach originalem Vorbild: gleicher Drahttyp, identisches Tape- und Kreppmaterial, gleiche Windungsrichtung, identische Windungsanzahl sowie die originale Montagetechnik. Das Ergebnis ist ein authentischer Vintage-Sound ohne hörbaren Unterschied zu einem original erhaltenen Pickup.

Die komplette Elektronik ist original bis auf einen ausgetauschten Kondensator gegen gleiches Model und arbeitet einwandfrei. Sämtliche Schalter, Potentiometer und beide Tonabnehmer funktionieren zuverlässig. Der Hals ist gerade, professionell eingestellt und bietet noch ausreichend Einstellreserve.

Der Bass erhielt von mir eine umfassende technische und optische Überholung. Der Lack wurde gründlich gereinigt, desinfiziert und auf Hochglanz poliert. Sämtliche Mechaniken wurden zerlegt, gereinigt, poliert und neu geschmiert. Die komplette Elektrik wurde gereinigt, überprüft und inklusive Erdung kontrolliert. Jedes einzelne Bauteil wurde demontiert, sorgfältig gereinigt, geprüft und aufpoliert. Griffbrett und Bünde wurden gereinigt, geschliffen, gepflegt und geölt. Anschließend wurde der Bass neu eingestellt und bundrein intoniert, sodass er sich angenehm spielen lässt und sich technisch in hervorragendem Zustand befindet.

Kurz gesagt: Auspacken, einstöpseln und loslegen – dieser Höfner 182 ist bereit für die nächsten Jahrzehnte auf der Bühne oder als Highlight in einer hochwertigen Vintage-Sammlung!

The Höfner 182 – A Modern, Punchy Funk Sound in Rare Vintage White

Up for sale is a beautiful, fully restored and well-preserved 1965 Höfner 182 short-scale bass in the rather rare Vintage White finish. Weighing only 2.7 kg (5.95 lbs), it is exceptionally lightweight and remains comfortable to play even during long sessions. It is equipped with the famous Franz Pix 511b „Nova Sonic“ staple pickups, delivering the lively, punchy and unmistakable 182 tone that has made this model so highly regarded. Despite its distinctive character, the 182 is a true all-rounder and feels equally at home in almost any musical style.

Personally, I have always loved the white version of the 182. Years ago I had planned to collect them, but white examples rarely appeared on the market. Eventually I switched my focus to the much more common red models. That makes it even more special for me to have had the opportunity to restore this beautiful white bass.

The bass dates from 1965 and, as expected from a vintage instrument, shows the usual signs of age and honest wear to the finish, hardware and plastic parts. Following its restoration, the original finish once again has a beautiful gloss on both the body and neck, while still retaining the characteristic checking, small dents and wear marks that collectors expect from an original vintage instrument. The original black celluloid pickguard has also been carefully restored and polished to a beautiful shine.

The neck pickup has been professionally rewound by me. My rewinds are carried out without compromise, following the original specifications in every detail: the same type of wire, identical tape and crepe paper, the original winding direction, the correct number of turns, and the original assembly method. The result is an authentic vintage tone with no audible difference from a well-preserved original pickup.

The entire electronics are original, with the exception of one capacitor that has been replaced with an identical original-specification component, and everything functions exactly as it should. All switches, potentiometers and both pickups work flawlessly. The neck is straight, professionally set up and still has plenty of truss rod adjustment remaining.

The bass has undergone a comprehensive mechanical and cosmetic restoration. The finish was thoroughly cleaned, disinfected and machine-polished to a high gloss. All tuners were completely disassembled, cleaned, polished and lubricated. The entire electronics were cleaned, inspected and checked, including the grounding. Every single component was removed, carefully cleaned, inspected and polished. The fingerboard and frets were cleaned, levelled where necessary, polished, conditioned and oiled. Finally, the bass received a full professional setup and precise intonation, ensuring excellent playability and outstanding technical condition.

In short: unpack it, plug it in and start playing – this Höfner 182 is ready for many more decades on stage or to become a highlight in any serious vintage collection.
