Beschreibung
Zur Abgabe kommt dieser wunderschöne und seltene Höfner 500/1 Violin Bass aus dem Jahre 1963 oder besser gesagt 1964 mit den berühmten Höfner Franz Pix 511B Staple „Nova Sonic“ Tonabnehmer, wie Sie auch dieser eine berühmte Musiker auf seinem Bass hat, weswegen sehr sehr viele Musiker so einen Bass haben möchten. Der 500/1 hat von mir eine vollständige Restaurierung inklusive Neck-Reset bekommen. Warum 1964 und nicht 1963? Alle Bauteile des Basses, Stempelung und Poti-Datums sind von 1963, die Auslieferung fand aber wohl 1964 statt. Auch die Höfner Fan-Gemeinde sagt in der Mehrheit, dass dies ganz frühe 1964er Bässe sind. Der 500/1 ist eines der bekannten Transitional Modelle, welches noch den „alten“ Hals mit der scharf geformten Kopfplatte und Höfner-Decal Logo hat, aber schon ein Binding wie die späteren 1964er. Wobei das Binding hier nicht so dick ist, wie bei den späteren 1964er Hälsen mit Höfner 3D-Logo und schärfer gezogen ist – Wohl weil diese Hälse bereits gebaut waren und nachträglich mit Binding ausgestattet wurden. Interessant bei diesem Bass ist auch dass dieser ein Pickup Spacing, sprich Abstand von Hals zu Bridge Tonabnehmer, wie das von einem 1962er Bass hat. Schaut man über das Binding hinweg, ist dieser Bass wie ein früher 1963er Bass aufgebaut. Unbedingt auch die Bilder anschauen, was für ein schönes Ahorn Tiger Flame der Bass an den Saiten und Boden hat. Das Binding soll ja die Instrumente hochwertiger machen, aufgrund dessen, dass der Bass des berühmten Musikers kein Binding hat, macht es diesen hier dadurch für euch günstiger 😉
Der 500/1 ist von 1964! Entsprechend hat Er Gebrauchsspuren! Es finden sich Macken, Dings und Dongs, Kratzer und Risse an Headstock, Body und den Teilen. Der Lack war stellenweise gerissen und wurde von mir nachträglich mit einer dünnen Schicht Nitrolack fixiert. Auch hat der Bass an den Außenkanten einen Overspray bekommen. Dies war leider notwendig, da hier in der Vergangenheit Lackreparaturen durchgeführt wurden. Der Bass war aber an sich davor schon sehr dunkel, ein sogenannter „dark burst“. Der Lack ist durch diese Behandlung wieder fixiert und kann nicht abbröckeln, was wohl sonst passiert wäre. Auf der Rückseite findet sich eine größere Stelle wo Lack abgenutzt wurde. Am Halsfuß hat der Bass ebenfalls einen Overspray bekommen, da auch hier in der Vergangenheit einmal schlechte Lackreparaturen durchgeführt wurden. Das Schlagbrett ist eine authentische Replika gefertigt von mir – Hergestellt aus echtem Celluloiud, wie es damals auch verwendet wurde, kopiert von einem original Schlagbrett. Alle Tonabnehmer funktionieren und sind im original Zustand, sowie jeder Schalter und Drehpoti. Der Bass hat von mir einen Neck-Reset mit Hautleim bekommen und hat nun wieder den korrekten Halswinkel mit einer herrlich schönen flachen Saitenlage. Aufgezogen sind Pyramid 640Flatwound Saiten.
Der Violin Bass hat von mir eine umfassende Überholung bekommen. Der Lack wurde von mir umfassend gereinigt, desinfiziert und aufpoliert. Mechaniken wurden zerlegt, gereinigt, poliert und neu geschmiert sowie jede einzelne Schraube. Gesamte Elektrik behandelt, gereinigt und auf Erdung geprüft. Jedes einzelne Bauteil zerlegt, überprüft, gereinigt und aufpoliert. Der Hals eingestellt für eine super Saitenlage, Griffbrett gesäubert, behandelt, geölt und Geschliffen. Keine Neubundierung erforderlich. Der 500/1 ist Bundrein und eingestellt.

Generelle Information:
Es handelt sich hierbei um ein Vintage Instrument. Die Zustand Beschreibung entspricht dieser, wenn Ihr zu mir in den Laden kommt und das Instrument direkt mitnehmen würdet. Durch die Temperaturgradiente beim Versand mit Luftfracht, kann es zu Änderungen am Zustand des Instrumentes kommen. z.B. Celluloid Schlagbretter könnten reißen oder schrumpfen durch die Spannung. Ebenfalls könnten Tonabnehmer durch die Draht Ausdehnung und Schrumpfung Ihre Funktion durch lösen der Lotstellen verlieren. Ich bin bei Reklamationen sehr entgegenkommend, aber bitte beachtet dieses und erwartet bitte kein Neuinstrument.

Up for sale is this beautiful and rare Höfner 500/1 Violin Bass from 1963 or rather 1964 with the famous Höfner Franz Pix 511B Staple „Nova Sonic“ pickups, like the one this famous musician also has on his bass, which is why very much many musicians would like to have a bass like this. The 500/1 received a complete restoration from me including a neck reset. Why 1964 and not 1963? All components of the bass, stamping and pot date are from 1963, but delivery probably took place in early 1964. The majority of the Höfner fan community also say that these are very early 1964 basses – so it’s a 1964 🙂 This 500/1 is one of the well-known Transitional models, which still has the „old“ neck with the sharply shaped headstock and Höfner decal logo, but already has a binding like the later 1964s. The binding here is not as thick as on the later 1964 necks with the Höfner 3D logo and is drawn more sharply – probably because these necks were already built and were subsequently equipped with binding. What’s also interesting about this bass is that it has pickup spacing, i.e. the distance from the neck to the bridge pickup, like that of a 1962 bass. If you look past the binding, this bass is built like an early 1963 bass. Be sure to look at the pictures to see what beautiful Maple Tiger Flame the bass has on the sides and back. The binding is supposed to make the instruments higher quality, but since the famous musician’s bass doesn’t have a binding, it makes this one cheaper for you 😉
The 500/1 is from 1964! Accordingly, it has signs of wear! There are quirks, dings and dongs, scratches and cracks on the headstock, body and the parts. The paint was cracked in places and I subsequently fixed it with a thin layer of nitro varnish. The bass also got an overspray on the outer edges. Unfortunately, this was necessary as paint repairs had been carried out here in the past. But the bass was already very dark beforehand, a so-called “dark burst”. This treatment fixes the paint again and prevents it from crumbling, which would otherwise have happened. There is a larger area on the back where the paint has worn off. The bass also has overspray at the base of the neck because poor paint repairs were carried out here in the past. The pickguard is an authentic replica made by me – made from real celluloid as it was used back then, copied from an original pickguard. All pickups work and are in their original condition, as well as every switch and rotary pot. I gave the bass a neck reset with skin glue and now has the correct neck angle again with a wonderfully flat string position. Pyramid 640 flatwound strings are installed.
I gave the violin bass a comprehensive overhaul. I thoroughly cleaned, disinfected and polished the paintwork. Mechanics were disassembled, cleaned, polished and re-lubricated as well as every single screw. All electrical system treated, cleaned and checked for grounding. Every single component is disassembled, checked, cleaned and polished. The neck is adjusted for great string action, the fingerboard is cleaned, treated, oiled and sanded. No rebundling required. The 500/1 is clean and adjusted.

Information:
It is a vintage instrument. The condition description corresponds to this when you come to me in the shop and would take the instrument directly with you. The temperature gradient when shipping with air freight can lead to changes in the condition of the instrument. e.g. Celluloid pickguard could tear or shrink due to tension. Likewise, pickups due to the wire expansion and shrinkage could lose their function by loosening the solder points. I am very accommodating with complaints, but please note this and do not expect a new instrument.
Please look closely at the pictures and ask as many questions as possible if something is unclear. Prefer a few more questions than to have the surprise afterwards. The shipment is securely packed.
