Eines der besten Gitarren ever! Höfner 176 Galaxy! Das sind die 60er, dass ist Surf, dass ist Rock n Roll! Die 176 ist die Deluxe Version und bietet all das, was man bei der 172, 173 und 175 vermisst. Die Schaltung ist sehr ausgeklügelt, aber sehr einfach zu verstehen. Die Tonevariation rießig, Favoriten lassen sich da schnell finden – Eher dann die Qual der Wahl welchen Ton man gerade spielen möchte 🙂 Der Sound ist sehr drückend und es macht wahnsinnig spaß diese Gitarre zu spielen.
Die Gitarre ist von 1964! Entsprechend hat Sie Gebrauchsspuren und das nicht wenig! Das Tolex ist in einem Fantastischen Zustand, was man selten bei diesen Modellen findet – Sogar der Keder ist ringsherum unbeschädigt. Jedoch hat irgend so ein Profi vor Jahren ein Kustom Schlagbrett angefertigt und drumherum mit Edding dieses bemalt. Ich habe versucht, so gut es ging diesen wieder zu entfernen, jedoch lässt er sich nicht komplett entfernen. Sehr Schade um das Vinyl. Mittlerweile muss ich aber sagen, dass mir der schwarze Edding so gar nicht mehr auffällt. Es ist ein optisches Manko an der Gitarre. Auch hatte die Gitarre eine Verunstaltung an Tunern, ich habe hier neue Kluson Tuner eingesetzt, die mit der Gitarre wunderbar harmonieren. Das Schlagbrett war um die Input-Buchse herum eingerissen, wurde geklebt. Ebenso wurden alle 3 Tonabnehmer von mir neugewickelt, da diese defekt waren. Sonst war die Elektronik im inneren original. Auf der Rückseite habe ich eine Replika Abdeckplatte angefertigt, da der Vorbesitzer hinten ein paar Löcher gesetzt hatte für eine eigene Abdeckung, die aber im Müll besser aufgehoben ist. Die Regler arbeiten rausch und knackfrei. Alle Tonabnehmer funktionieren, sowie jeder Schalter und Drehpoti.
Die Gitarre hat von mir eine umfassende Überholung bekommen. Das Vinyl wurde von mir umfassend gereinigt, desinfiziert und aufpoliert. Das Vibrato wurde gereinigt und neu geschmiert. Gesamte Elektrik behandelt. Der Hals eingestellt für eine super Saitenlage. Griffbrett und Bünde gesäubert, behandelt, geölt und Geschliffen.
Die Gitarre ist ready to Rock n Roll und keine Schönheit und Sammlerstück – Dafür umso mehr technisch eine hervorragende Gitarre

One of the best guitars ever! Höfner 176 Galaxy! This are the 60s, this is Surf, this is Rock n Roll! The 176 is the deluxe version and got all that what you miss on the 172, 173 and 175. The circuit is very cool and easy to understand. The tone variations are big and you find fast your own favorites – It’s hard to decide what tone to use because they sound all very cool 🙂 The sound pressures and it make a lot of fun to play this guitar – really!
The guitar is from 1964! Accordingly, it has signs of use and that not less! The Tolex is in fantastic condition, something you rarely find on these models – even the binding is undamaged all around. However, some professional made a custom pickguard years ago and painted it around with Edding. I tried to remove it as much as possible, but it cannot be removed completely. A shame about the vinyl because it looks so fantastic. Meanwhile, I have to say that I no longer notice the black edding. It is an optical thing on the guitar. The guitar also had a blemish on tuners, I used new Kluson tuners here that harmonize wonderfully with the guitar. The pickguard was cracked around the input-jack and was glued. I also rewound all 3 pickups because they were dead. Otherwise the electronics inside were original. On the back I made a replica cover plate because the previous owner had put a few holes in the back for a cover of his own, which is better stored in the trash.
The guitar has received a comprehensive overhaul from me. I thoroughly cleaned, disinfected and polished the vinyl. The vibrato & tuners were cleaned and re-lubricated. Total electrics treated. The neck set for a super string action. Fingerboard and frets cleaned, treated, oiled and polished.
The guitar is ready to Rock n Roll and not a beauty and collector’s item – all more technically an excellent guitar
