Hier haben wir einen ganz besonderen Höfner 185 Bass. Noch ohne die Wahlschalter am Cutaway und total in Natur Holzoptik überzogen mit Nitro Klarlack. Einen Bass wie diesen, werdet Ihr so schnell nicht mehr finden 🙂
Der Bass hat die berühmten Staple Bar Pickups eingebaut – dieselben die auch im 500/1 Violin Bass von McCartney verbaut waren/sind.
Der Bass ist von 1963! Entsprechend hat er Gebrauchsspuren! Durch die Überholung wirkt er wiederrum aber sehr gepflegt. Der Natur Korpus sticht besonders heraus und zeigt eine tolle Maserung. Das Schlagbrett hat eine winzige angebrochene Stelle an einem Schraubenloch, ist aber noch stabil. Auf den Bildern fehlt eine Schraube am Schlagbrett, ist natürlich aber mit dabei. Die beiden Staple Bar Tonabnehmer funktionieren, sowie jeder Drehpoti.
Der Bass hat von mir eine umfassende Überholung bekommen. Mechaniken wurden gereinigt und neu geschmiert. Gesamte Elektrik behandelt. Der Hals eingestellt für eine sehr gute flache Saitenlage. Griffbrett und Bünde gesäubert, behandelt, abgerichtet, poliert, geölt und Geschliffen. Ready to roll – Get it!

Here we have a very special one Höfner 185 Bass. Still without the selector switch on the cutaway and totally in nature Wood look coated with nitro clearcoat. You will not find a bass like this anytime soon 🙂
The bass hast he famous Staple Bar Pickup. The same that are used in the 500/1 Violin Bass and the same type and year that Paul McCartney used in his violin bass
The bass is from 1963! Accordingly he has signs of wear! By the Overhaul he acts again, but very well maintained. The nature corpus stands especially out and shows a great grain. The pickguard has a tiny cracked spot on a screw hole, but is still stable. On the pictures a screw is missing on the pickguard, but of course it is included. The two Staple Bar pickups work as well as any pot.
The bass got a complete overhaul from me. Mechanics were
cleaned and re-lubricated. Total electrics treated. The neck set
for a very good flat string action. Cleaned fingerboard and frets,
treated, dressed, polished, oiled and grounded. Ready to roll – get it!
