Zur Abgabe kommt dieser wunderschöne rote Höfner 185 shortscale Bass mit den toll klingenden Höfner Franz Pix 511 „Nova Sonic“ Pickups aus dem Jahre 1963. Vollständig aufbereitet und restauriert, dennoch mit deutlich sichtbar gerockten Charakter. Ein sehr interessantes Modell – Eigentlich ein 1962er , da er da gefertigt wurde und vom Aufbau her noch mit den Fräsungen und Halsfuß wie die alten Modelle aufgebaut ist und auch die Potentiometer Codes auf 1962 datieren . Wohl aber fand die Auslieferung 1963 statt. Somit ein ganz frühes Modell mit den damals neuen Höfner Franz Pix 511 „Nova Sonic“ Pickups.
Der 185 ist von 1963! Entsprechend hat dieser Gebrauchsspuren! Es finden sich Macken, Dings und Dongs, Kratzer und Risse an Headstock, Body und den Teilen. Der Lack hat an einigen Stellen Abnutzungen, Risse und Dallen – Glänzt aber wieder sehr schön nach der Restaurierung. Der Korpus hatte sich in der Vergangenheit an einem Teil der Verleimung gelöst. Ich habe die Fugen wieder komplett verleimt. Optisch sind aber noch ein paar kleine Spalte zu erkennen – Der Korpus ist aber absolut solide und fällt auch nicht auseinander, es ist lediglich ein optischer Punkt. Das Schlagbrett hat ebenfalls einige Kratzer und Abnutzungen, glänzt aber noch sehr schön. Das Schlagbrett hatte einen kleinen Riss am Schraubenloch links neben der Klinkenbuchse und wurde repariert. Der Steg Tonabnehmer wurde von mir neu gewickelt. Von mir gewickelte Tonabnehmer sind authentisch. Ich verwende den gleichen Draht-Typ; dasselbe Tape und Kreppmaterial; die gleiche Windungsrichtung; selbe Windungsanzahl; gleiche Zusammenbautechnik – Es gibt keinen hörbaren Unterschied zu einem Original. Alle Tonabnehmer funktionieren, sowie jeder Schalter und Drehpoti. . Der Hals ist wunderbar gerade und spielt sich sehr schön und angenehm mit einer sehr guten Saitenlage. Der 185 wurde von mir mit Wagner Bunddraht neu bundiert. Er hatte mal in der Vergangenheit einen Ebenholzsattel spendiert bekommen. Ich habe den etwas nachgebessert und finde Ihn super harmonisch mit dem Bass.
Der 185 hat von mir eine umfassende Überholung bekommen. Der Lack wurde von mir umfassend behandelt, gereinigt, desinfiziert und aufpoliert. Mechaniken wurden zerlegt, gereinigt, poliert und neu geschmiert. Gesamte Elektrik behandelt, gereinigt, geprüft und auf Erdung kontrolliert. Jedes einzelne Bauteil zerlegt, überprüft, gereinigt und aufpoliert. Der Hals eingestellt für eine gute Saitenlage. Griffbrett und Bünde gesäubert, behandelt, geölt und geschliffen. Vollständig restauriert. Der 185 ist Bundrein und eingestellt.
Bitte beachtet bei dieser Ausführung des 185 das Vintage Wiring der Potentiometer. Der Sound der Tonabnehmer kann sich untereinander beeinflussen, je nachdem wie die Tone Potis geregelt werden

Generelle Information:
Es handelt sich hierbei um ein Vintage Instrument. Die Zustand Beschreibung entspricht dieser, wenn Ihr zu mir in den Laden kommt und das Instrument direkt mitnehmen würdet. Durch die Temperaturgradiente beim Versand mit Luftfracht, kann es zu Änderungen am Zustand des Instrumentes kommen. z.B. Celluloid Schlagbretter könnten reißen oder schrumpfen durch die Spannung. Ebenfalls könnten Tonabnehmer durch die Draht Ausdehnung und Schrumpfung Ihre Funktion durch lösen der Lotstellen verlieren. Ich bin bei Reklamationen sehr entgegenkommend, aber bitte beachtet dieses und erwartet bitte kein Neuinstrument.

This beautiful red Höfner 185 shortscale bass with the great sounding Höfner Franz Pix 511 „Nova Sonic“ pickups from 1963 is up for sale. Fully prepared and restored, yet with a clearly visibly rocked character. A very interesting model – actually a 1962, as it was made there and is still constructed with the millings and neck like the old models and the potentiometer codes also date to 1962. However, the way to a shop took place in 1963. A very early model with the then new Höfner Franz Pix 511 „Nova Sonic“ pickups.
The 185 is from 1963! Accordingly, it has signs of wear! There are quirks, dings and dongs, scratches and cracks on the headstock, body and the parts. The paint has wear, cracks and dents in some places – but shines very nicely again after the restoration. Some of the glue on the body had come loose in the past. I completely glued the joints again. Visually you can still see a few small gaps – but the body is absolutely solid and isn’t falling apart, it’s just a visual point. The pickguard also has some scratches and wear, but still has a nice shine after the restoring. The pickguard had a small crack in the screw hole to the left of the input jack and was repaired. The bridge pickup was rewound by me. Pickups I have rewound are authentic. I use the same type of wire; the same tape and crepe material; the same direction of winding; same number of turns; Same assembly technique – there is no audible difference to an original. All pickups work, as well as every switch and potentiometer. The neck is wonderfully straight and plays very nicely and comfortably with a very good string action. I re-fretted the 185 with Wagner fret wire. He had once been given an ebony saddle in the past. I improved it a bit and find it to be super harmonious with the bass.
I gave the 185 a comprehensive overhaul. The lacquer was extensively treated, cleaned, disinfected and polished by me. Mechanics were disassembled, cleaned, polished and re-lubricated. All electrical systems treated, cleaned, tested and checked for grounding. Every single component is disassembled, checked, cleaned and polished. The neck is adjusted for good string action. Fingerboard and frets cleaned, treated, oiled and sanded. Fully restored. The 185 is clean and adjusted.
Please note the vintage wiring of the potentiometers with this version of this 185. The sound of the pickups can influence each other depending on how the tone pots are controlled

Information:
It is a vintage instrument. The condition description corresponds to this when you come to me in the shop and would take the instrument directly with you. The temperature gradient when shipping with air freight can lead to changes in the condition of the instrument. e.g. Celluloid pickguard could tear or shrink due to tension. Likewise, pickups due to the wire expansion and shrinkage could lose their function by loosening the solder points. I am very accommodating with complaints, but please note this and do not expect a new instrument.
Please look closely at the pictures and ask as many questions as possible if something is unclear. Prefer a few more questions than to have the surprise afterwards. The shipment is securely packed.
