Ich freue mich im neuen Jahr wieder einen schönen Brokat 185 im Angebot zu haben und dazu noch ein richtig gut erhaltener der nach der Restaurierung wieder richtig zum glänzen kommt. Zur Abgabe kommt dieser schöne Höfner 185 Bass mit den toll klingenden Franz Pix 511 Nova Sonic Pickups aus dem Jahre 1963 in der wunderschönen Brokat Vinyl Ausführung – Ein seltenes Stück. Es handelt sich hierbei um das allererste Modell, welches noch ohne Pickup-Wahlschalter ausgestattet war – Vergleichbar mit Selmers Artist Modell. Bedenken sollte man daher, dass sich der Sound beim regeln via der Potentiometer wie auch bei allen anderen Vintage Verdrahtungen aus der Zeit gegenseitig beeinflusst.
Der 185 ist von 1963! Entsprechend hat Er Gebrauchsspuren! Es finden sich Macken, Dings und Dongs, Kratzer und Risse an Headstock, Body und den Teilen. Das Vinyl ist trotz dem Alter in einem sehr guten Zustand und glänzt sehr schön. Der goldene Anteil hat sich stellenweise schon abgerieben, könnte aber mit einem Goldstift wieder ergänzt werden, habe das aber in diesem Fall nicht gemacht um den Charakter des Basses zu erhalten. Der Keder liegt ringsherum an und ist frei von Brüchen – Auf den Bildern der Unterseite sieht man eine Lücke zwischen dem Binding, dies ist das Anfangsstück, daher der Abstand. Das Zelluloid Schlagbrett hat ebenfalls einige Kratzer und Abnutzungen, glänzt aber noch sehr schön und ist frei von Brüchen. Die Tonabnehmer sind komplett original und funktionieren, sowie jeder Drehpoti. Die Elektronik ist Original. Der Hals ist gerade und eingestellt
Der 185 hat von mir eine umfassende Überholung bekommen. Das Vinyl wurde von mir umfassend gereinigt, desinfiziert und aufpoliert. Mechaniken wurden gereinigt, poliert und neu geschmiert. Gesamte Elektrik behandelt, gereinigt und geprüft. Der Hals eingestellt für eine flache Saitenlage. Griffbrett und Bünde abgerichtet, gesäubert, behandelt, geölt und Geschliffen. Keine Neubundierung erforderlich. Der 185 ist Bundrein und eingestellt.

I’m looking forward to having a nice brocade 185 on offer again in the new year and a really well-preserved one that’s really shining again after the restoration. This beautiful Höfner 185 bass with the great-sounding Franz Pix 511 Nova Sonc pickups from 1963 in the beautiful brocade vinyl version is for sale – a rare piece.. This is the very first model that was not equipped with a pickup selector switch – comparable to Selmer’s Artist model. One should therefore consider that the sound influences each other when controlling via the potentiometer as with all other vintage wiring from the time.
The 185 is from 1963! Accordingly, it has signs of use! There are quirks, dings and dongs, scratches and cracks on the headstock, body and parts. The vinyl is in good condition despite its age and has a very nice shine. The golden part has already rubbed off in places, but could be added again with a gold pen, but I didn’t do that in this case to preserve the character of the bass. The binding fits all around and is free of breaks – In the pictures on the underside you can see a gap between the binding, this is the beginning piece, hence the distance.. The celluloid pickguard also has some scratches and scuffs, but still has a very nice deep black shine and is crack-free. The pickups are original and work, as well as every switch and potentiometer. The neck is straight and setuped.
I gave the 185 a major overhaul. The vinyl is cleaned, disinfected and polished up by me. Mechanisms have been cleaned, polished and re-lubricated. All electrics treated, cleaned and checked. The neck adjusted for a great actio. Fretboard and frets cleaned, treated, oiled and sanded. The 185 is ocatve clean and setuped.
