Zur Abgabe kommt eine schöne Höfner 173 in Rot Vinyl mit dem berühmten Franz pix 510 Diamond Pickups aus dem Jahre 1962. Der Allgemeinzustand der Gitarre ist nach der Restaurierung ist sehr gut, auch wenn stellenweise nicht mehr ganz original.
Die 173 ist von 1962! Es finden sich trotz des Alters dennoch Gebrauchsspuren auf Vinyl, Hardware und Kunststoff. Das Vinyl ist bis auf einen älteren reparierten Riss auf der Rückseite in sehr guten Zustand, glänzt sehr schön nach der Restaurierung und liegt auch überall sauber an. Das Binding liegt ebenfalls ringsherum am Korpus an. Typisch für die alten 173 E-Gitarren aus der Zeit ist das Metall-Schlagbrett welches ebenfalls im guten Zustand ist bis auf die im Alter entsprechenden Abnutzungen und Krater. Es ließ sich aber wieder schön aufbereiten. Wegen dem Metall-Schlagbrett in Verbindung der Single Coil Tonabnehmer, ist diese Gitarre nicht wirklich für High-Gain ausgelegt und mehr ein drückendes Clean Monster oder Wahlweise bis kräftigen Crunch. Außer man hat den Volume-Regler gut im Griff 🙂 Die Beschriftung am Wahlschalter ist noch sehr gut leserlich. Der Hals und Mitte Tonabnehmer wurden von mir neu gewickelt – Von mir gewickelte Tonabnehmer sind authentisch. Ich verwende den gleichen Draht-Typ; dasselbe Tape und Kreppmaterial; die gleiche Windungsrichtung; selbe Windungsanzahl; gleiche Zusammenbautechnik – Es gibt keinen hörbaren Unterschied zu einem Original. Alle Tonabnehmer funktionieren, sowie jeder Schalter und Drehpoti. Die Elektronik ist Original. Der Hals wurde von mir neu in Nitro Schwarz lackiert, da dieser in der Vergangenheit zusätzlich durchbohrt wurde in der Kopfplatte. Die Löcher wurden sauber mit Dübel geschlossen. Ich habe unter der Lackierung einen Teil des alten Nitro Lackes vorhanden gelassen, dieser war schon schön eingerissen und so wird auch dieser Hals nach einiger Zeit die berühmten schönen Nitro Risse bekommen 🙂 Ebenso wurden einmal die Mechaniken gegen Japan Mechaniken ausgetauscht. Das gute ist, dass diese in die Original Lochbohrung passten und somit nicht aufgebohrt wurde und daher der Headstock wieder auf original Höfner Mechaniken umgerüstet werden kann! Ich habe hierzu schon die passenden Höfner Hülsen am Headstock angebracht. Ansonsten ist der Hals gerade, abgerichtet und eingestellt. Eine Neubundierung ist nicht erforderlich.
Die 173 hat von mir eine umfassende Überholung bekommen. Das Vinyl wurde von mir umfassend gereinigt, desinfiziert und aufpoliert. Mechaniken wurden gereinigt und neu geschmiert. Vibrato zerlegt, gereinigt und neu geschmiert. Gesamte Elektrik behandelt, gereinigt und geprüft. Der Hals eingestellt für eine gute Saitenlage. Griffbrett und Bünde gesäubert, behandelt, geölt und Geschliffen. Die 173 ist Bundrein und eingestellt.

! Anmerkung zur Corona Lage:

Up for sale ist this beautiful Höfner 173 in red vinyl with the famous Franz pix 510 diamond pickups from 1962. The general condition of the guitar is very good after the restoration. even if not entirely original in places.
The 173 is from 1962! Despite the age, there are still traces of use on vinyl, hardware and plastic. The vinyl is in good condition with the exception of an older repaired tear on the back. It shines very nicely after the restoration and fits on all „edges“ everywhere. The binding is also all around the body. Typical of the old 173 electric guitars from that time is the metal pickguard which is also in good condition except for the wear and tear and wear corresponding to its age. But it could be nicely refurbished. Regarding the metal pickguard this guitar is not a high gain guitar together with the singlecoils – More a clean monster till crunch or you are able to handle the volume control right 🙂 The labeling on the selector switch is still very legible. The neck and middle pickups were rewound by me – pickups that I have wound are authentic. I am using the same type of wire; the same tape and crepe material; the same winding direction; same number of turns; same assembly technique – there is no audible difference to an original. All pickups work, as well as every switch and potentiometer. The electronics are original. The neck was repainted by me in Nitro Black because there where added some extra holes into the headstock in the past by previus owners. The holes were neatly closed with dowels. I left a part of the old nitro varnish under the paint, it was already nicely cracked and so this neck will also get the famous nice nitro cracks after a while 🙂 Also the mechanics were exchanged for Japan mechanics. The good thing is that these fit into the original hole and were therefore not drilled out and therefore the headstock can be converted back to original Höfner mechanics! I have already attached the matching Höfner sleeves to the headstock. Otherwise the neck is straight, dressed and adjusted. Refret is not required.
I gave the 173 a major overhaul. I thoroughly cleaned, disinfected and polished the vinyl. Mechanisms have been cleaned and re-lubricated. Vibrato disassembled, cleaned and re-lubricated. All electrics treated, cleaned and checked. The neck adjusted for good action. Fretboard and frets cleaned, treated, oiled and sanded. The 172 is octave clean and setuped.
