Voller Stolz darf ich euch heute diese tolle Gitarre vorstellen – Eine Höfner 188 Baritone Gitarre! Ein unglaublich tolles Stück was Höfner 1965 gefertigt hat und die Sunburst Lackierung verleiht der Gitarre eine absolute Rock n Roll Optik! Ich bin ja ein sehr großer Fan der 176, aber die 188 verpasst dem ganzen noch einmal ein Sahnehäubchen. Die Baritone Gitarre bietet eine vielfältige Tonvariation – Die Pickups können einzeln angesprochen werden oder gemeinsam die Wände zum Wackeln bringen. Jeder Tonabnehmer kann individuell in der Lautstärke angepasst werden. Tollerweise hat Sie auch den Solo/Rhythm Schalter, welcher noch weitere Toneinstellungen mit sich bringt – Favoriten lassen sich da schnell finden und man kämpft mit der Qual der Wahl welchen Ton man gerade spielen möchte 🙂 Selten ist hier vor allem, dass die Baritone-Gitarre quasi identisch wie eine 176 ausgerüstet ist! Normalerweise fehlt mindestens der 5 Fach Wahlschalter. Der Sound ist extrem drückend, vor allem der Hals-Tonabnehmer und es macht wahnsinnig spaß, diese Gitarre zu spielen – Wirklich, der Hals ist trotz seiner Dicke aber sehr schön und schnell zu spielen.
Die 188 ist von 1965! Entsprechend hat Sie Gebrauchsspuren! Es finden sich Macken, Dings und Dongs, Kratzer und Risse überall. Der Lack hat trotz seines Alters, seinen unglaublich schönen Glanz nicht verloren. Das Schlagbrett hat im Bereich des Halstonabnehmers einen kleinen Riss, der von mir behandelt wurde. Trotz den Abnutzungen glänzt es aber noch sehr schön – Sollte auf den Bildern gut sichtbar sein. Der Steg Tonabnehmer, bzw. eine der beiden Spulen wurde von mir neu gewickelt. Von mir gewickelte Tonabnehmer sind authentisch. Ich verwende den gleichen Draht-Typ; dasselbe Tape und Kreppmaterial; die gleiche Windungsrichtung; selbe Windungsanzahl; gleiche Zusammenbautechnik – Es gibt keinen hörbaren Unterschied zu einem Original. Alle Tonabnehmer funktionieren, sowie jeder Schalter und Drehpoti. Die Elektronik ist Original. Die Bünde sind im sehr guten Zustand und abgerichtet. Eine Neubundierung ist noch nicht erforderlich. Der Hals ist gerade und eingestellt. Zwei Mechaniken sind gegen optisch ähnliche Mechaniken getauscht worden. Auf der Seite der hohen Saite wurde an einer Stelle über mehrere Bünde das Binding repariert. Die Halstasche ist überraschenderweise etwas Größer, als der Hals selbst gefräst. Warum das so ist, kann ich nicht sagen – Der Hals gehört aufjedenfall von der Stempelung und Typ zu diesem Bariton Korpus. Der Zwischenraum von Hals und Body wurde mit Shims gefüllert. Auf den Bildern sollte auch gut erkennbar sein, dass sich zwei lange Risse, jeweils von den Cutaways aus durch den Korpus ziehen. Dies sind Spannungsrisse! Die Konstruktion dieser Gitarren ist sehr speziell und Höfner hat seinerseits die Ausfräsungen nach der Lackierung noch einmal nachgearbeitet, so dass die Drehregler nicht am Holz schleifen. Dadurch ist der Body an einigen Stellen dünner und hat nicht mehr sehr viel Material dazwischen. Der Dicke Hals der Baritone hat eben gut Saitenzug und dadurch entstehen dann solche Risse. Ich habe zur Sicherheit alle Risse mit Leim behandelt und mehrere Bruchversuche unternommen, es ist absolut solide – Lediglich ein Optischer Mangel.
Die 188 hat von mir eine umfassende Überholung bekommen. Der Lack wurde von mir umfassend gereinigt, desinfiziert und aufpoliert. Mechaniken und Vibrato wurden gereinigt und neu geschmiert. Gesamte Elektrik behandelt, gereinigt und geprüft. Der Hals eingestellt für eine super Saitenlage. Griffbrett und Bünde gesäubert, behandelt, geölt und Geschliffen. Die 188 ist Bundrein und eingestellt.
Ihr seid normalerweise von mir die Bilder auf Steinboden gewöhnt. Ich bin in einen neuen Laden umgezogen und suche noch nach einer guten Foto-Location. Daher solange solche Bildaufnahmen 😊

Information:
Es handelt sich hierbei um ein Vintage Instrument. Die Zustand Beschreibung entspricht dieser, wenn Ihr zu mir in den Laden kommt und das Instrument direkt mitnehmen würdet. Durch die Temperaturgradiente beim Versand mit Luftfracht, kann es zu Änderungen am Zustand des Instrumentes kommen. z.B. Celluloid Schlagbretter könnten reißen oder schrumpfen durch die Spannung. Ebenfalls könnten Tonabnehmer durch die Draht Ausdehnung und Schrumpfung Ihre Funktion durch lösen der Lotstellen verlieren. Ich bin bei Reklamationen sehr entgegenkommend, aber bitte beachtet dieses und erwartet bitte kein Neuinstrument.
! Anmerkung zur Corona Lage:
Pakete werden weiterhin ausgeliefert und die Logistik funktioniert weiterhin wie gewohnt. Ich versende umgehend nach Zahlungseingang und die Gitarre wird sehr gut verpackt. I am proud to present you all this great guitar – a Höfner 188 baritone guitar! An incredibly great piece of what Höfner made in 1965 and the sunburst paint gives the guitar an absolute rock n roll look! I’m a very big fan of the 176, but the 188 gives the icing on the cake again. The baritone guitar offers a wide range of tones – the pickups can be selectred individually or together to make the walls shake. Each pickup can be individually adjusted in volume. Great you also have the Solo / Rhythm switch, which brings even more sound settings with it – favorites can be found quickly and you struggle with the agony of choosing which sound you want to play 🙂 Rarely is it here that the baritone Guitar is almost identical to a 176! Usually at least the 5 way tone switch is missing. The sound is extremely oppressive, especially the neck pickup and it is incredibly fun to play this guitar – Really, the neck is very nice and quick to play despite its thickness.
The 188 is from 1965! Accordingly, it has signs of wear! There are quirks, dings and dongs, scratches and cracks everywhere. Despite its age, the paint has not lost its incredibly beautiful shine. The pickguard has a small crack in the area of the neck pickup, which I treated. Despite the wear, it still shines very nicely – should be clearly visible on the pictures. The bridge pickup or one of the two coils was rewound by me. Pickups I have rewound are authentic. I use the same type of wire; the same tape and crepe material; the same direction of winding; same number of turns; Same assembly technique – there is no audible difference to an original. All pickups work, as well as every switch and potentiometer. The electronics are original. The frets are in very good condition and dressed. A refret is not yet necessary. The neck is straight and setuped. Two mechanic tuner have been exchanged for optically similar tuners. On the high string side, the binding was repaired in one place over several frets. The neck pocket is surprisingly slightly larger than the neck itself. I can’t say why that is – the neck definitely belongs to the baritone body of the stamp and type. The empty space was filled with shims. The pictures should also clearly show that two long cracks, each from the cutaway, run through the body. These are stress cracks! The construction of these guitars is very special and Höfner has reworked the cut-outs after painting so that the rotary controls do not rub against the wood. As a result, the body is thinner in some places and does not have much material in between. The thick neck of the baritones has good string tension and this causes such cracks. To be on the safe side, I treated all cracks with glue and made several attempts to break it, it is absolutely solid – just an optical defect.
The 188 has received a comprehensive overhaul from me. The lacquer was cleaned, disinfected and polished by me. Mechanics and vibrato were cleaned and relubricated. All electric treated, cleaned and checked. The neck adjusted for a super string action. Fretboard and frets cleaned, treated, oiled and sanded. The Höfner 173 is octave clean and setuped.
You are usually seen pictures on stone floor from me. I have moved to a new shop and am still looking for a good photo location. Hence, as long as such pictures 😊

It is a vintage instrument. The condition description corresponds to this when you come to me in the shop and would take the instrument directly with you. The temperature gradient when shipping with air freight can lead to changes in the condition of the instrument. e.g. Celluloid pickguard could tear or shrink due to tension. Likewise, pickups due to the wire expansion and shrinkage could lose their function by loosening the solder points. I am very accommodating with complaints, but please note this and do not expect a new instrument.
