Zur Abgabe kommt dieser grandiose Höfner 185 Bass der für mich jetzt ein ganz besonderes Instrument ist – Mein erster Linkshänder 185 und dann noch in der seltenen Banana Burst Farbe – Wow! Ausgestattet mit den toll klingenden Franz Pix 511 Nova Super Pickups aus dem Jahre 1965 und einem super Zustand nach der Restauration. Es ist schon erstaunlich und Cool, wie Höfner diesen Bass damals gefertigt hat. So wurden zum Teil doch noch Parts von der Rechtshänder Version verwendet, wie z.B. die Tonabnehmer, die hier gedreht im Pickguard sitzen. Ist kein Montagefehler von mir, sondern geht nur so ohne Änderungen am Montagerahmen vorzunehmen. Auch der Hals stammt vom Rechtshänder Modell, ist mit dem originalen Sattel aber auf Links ausgerichtet und ist von der Konstruktion her wohl Stabil genug das so abzukönnen – Der Hals ist nämlich Kerzengerade und frei von Twists und Verbiegungen. Auch funktioniert hier die Tonabnehmerwahlschaltung genau wie beim Rechtshänder, nämlich genauso – Das heißt das hier statt nach unten, nach oben geschaltet wird um die Tonabnehmer anzuschalten. Liegt vermutlich daran, dass Höfner damals die Elektronik Vor verdrahtet hatte und dann in die Pickguards verbaut hat, wie dann auch hier. Overall eine wirklich gelungene Linskhänder Version im super Zustand.
Der 185 ist von 1965! Entsprechend hat er Gebrauchsspuren! Es finden sich Macken, Dings und Dongs, Kratzer und Risse an Headstock, Body und den Teilen. Der Lack ist trotz dem Alter in einem guten Zustand und glänzt sehr schön nach der Restaurierung. Das Zelluloid Schlagbrett hat ebenfalls einige Kratzer und Abnutzungen, glänzt aber noch sehr schön im Tiefschwarz. Die Beschriftung auf dem Schlagbrett ist noch sehr gut lesbar. 2 von 4 Spulen der Tonabnehmer wurden von mir neu gewickelt. Von mir gewickelte Tonabnehmer sind authentisch. Ich verwende den gleichen Draht-Typ; dasselbe Tape und Kreppmaterial; die gleiche Windungsrichtung; selbe Windungsanzahl; gleiche Zusammenbautechnik – Es gibt keinen hörbaren Unterschied zu einem Original. Alle Tonabnehmer funktionieren, sowie jeder Drehpoti. Die Elektronik ist Original. Der Hals ist gerade und eingestellt
Der 185 hat von mir eine umfassende Überholung bekommen. Der Lack wurde von mir umfassend behandelt, gereinigt, desinfiziert und aufpoliert. Mechaniken wurden gereinigt, poliert und neu geschmiert. Gesamte Elektrik behandelt, gereinigt, geprüft und auf Erdung kontrolliert. Der Hals eingestellt für eine gute Saitenlage. Griffbrett und Bünde gesäubert, behandelt, geölt und Geschliffen. Der 185 ist Bundrein und eingestellt.

For sale is this grandiose Höfner 185 bass, which is now a very special instrument for me – my first left-handed 185 and then in the rare banana burst color – Wow! Equipped with the great sounding Franz Pix 511 Nova Super pickups from 1965 and in great condition after the restoration. It’s amazing and cool how Höfner made this bass back then. Some parts from the right-handed version were still used, such as the pickups, which are rotated here in the pickguard. It’s not an assembly error on my part, it’s the only way to do it without making any changes to the assembly frame. The neck is also from the right-handed model, but with the original saddle it is aligned to the left and is probably stable enough in terms of construction to be able to do this – the neck is completeley-straight and free of twists and bends. The pick-up selection circuit also works here in exactly the same way as with a right-hander, namely in the same way – that means that instead of down, it is switched up here to switch on the pickups. This is probably due to the fact that Höfner pre-wired the electronics and then installed them in the pickguards, as is the case here. Overall a really successful left-handed version in great condition.
The 185 is from 1965! Accordingly, he has signs of use! There are quirks, dings and dongs, scratches and cracks on the headstock, body and parts. The paint is in good condition despite its age and has a very nice shine after the restoration. The celluloid pickguard also has some scratches and scuffs but still has a very nice deep black shine. The lettering on the pickguard is still very legible. Two of four coils of the pickups was rewound by me. Pickups I have rewound are authentic. I use the same type of wire; the same tape and crepe material; the same direction of winding; same number of turns; Same assembly technique – there is no audible difference to an original. All pickups work, as well as every switch and potentiometer. The neck is straight and setuped
I gave the 185 a major overhaul. The lacquer is treated, cleaned, disinfected and polished up by me. Mechanics have been cleaned, polished and re-lubricated. All electrics treated, cleaned and checked for grounding. The neck adjusted for a good action. Fretboard and frets cleaned, oiled and sanded. The 185 is ocatve clean and setuped.
