Mal wieder etwas seltenes geiles – Nicht oft gefertigt, nicht oft gesehen, ein must have in der Sammlung! Eine Höfner 188 Baritone E-Gitarre im schönen Vinyl Weiß/Schwarz. Ausgestattet mit den fantastischen Höfner Franz Pix Nova Sonic 511 Staple Pickups und bestückt mit neuen Pyramid Flatwound Baritone Saiten.
Die 188 ist von 1964! Entsprechend hat Sie Gebrauchsspuren! Es finden sich trotz des Alters dennoch Gebrauchsspuren auf Vinyl, Hardware und Kunststoff. Das Vinyl ist in einem guten Zustand. Stellenweise hat es Verfärbungen von früheren Farbauftragungen, die ich so gut es ging entfernt habe. Durch die Beschichtung ist das Weiß des Vinyls gut erhalten geblieben und hat dadurch keine geblichen/braunen Verfärbungen wie so viele Vinyl Höfners. Das Vinyl ist altersbedingt an einigen Stellen geschrumpft – Habe dies so gut es ging wieder in Form gebracht, an einigen Stellen sieht man aber dennoch minimal das Holz hindurch. Der Keder liegt ebenfalls ringsherum am Korpus an und hat keine Beschädigungen bis auf eine geklebte Stelle auf der Unterseite. Das seltene Celuloid Schlagbrett hat Abnutzungen und Gebrauchsspuren, ist aber noch super erhalten und ist Rissfrei. Die Beschriftung auf dem Schlagbrett ist noch teils gut leserlich. 2 von 6 Spulen der Tonabnehmer wurden von mir neu gewickelt. Von mir gewickelte Tonabnehmer sind authentisch. Ich verwende den gleichen Draht-Typ; dasselbe Tape und Kreppmaterial; die gleiche Windungsrichtung; selbe Windungsanzahl; gleiche Zusammenbautechnik – Es gibt keinen hörbaren Unterschied zu einem Original. Alle Tonabnehmer funktionieren, sowie jeder Schalter und Drehpoti. Die Elektronik ist Original. Der Hals ist gerade und das Griffbrett ist frei von Deadspots dank Abrichtung und spielt sich wunderbar
Die 188 hat von mir eine umfassende Überholung bekommen. Das Vinyl und der Lack wurde von mir umfassend gereinigt, desinfiziert und aufpoliert. Mechaniken wurden zerlegt, gereinigt, poliert und neu geschmiert. Vibrato zerlegt, aufbereitet und neu geschmiert. Gesamte Elektrik behandelt, gereinigt, geprüft und auf Erdung kontrolliert. Der Hals eingestellt für eine super Saitenlage. Griffbrett und Bünde abgerichtet, gesäubert, behandelt, geölt und Geschliffen. Die 188 ist Bundrein und eingestellt für eine B E A D F♯ B Stimmung

Now something rare and cool again – not often made, not often seen, a must have in the collection! A Höfner 188 Baritone electric guitar in beautiful vinyl white. Equipped with the fantastic sounding Höfner Franz Pix Nova Sonic 511 Staple Pickups and equipped with new Pyramid Flatwound Baritone strings.
The 188 is from 1964! Accordingly, it has signs of use! Despite the age, there are still signs of wear on the vinyl, hardware and plastic. The vinyl is in good condition. In places it has discolouration from previous paint applications which I have removed as best as I can. Due to the coating in the past, the white of the vinyl has been well preserved and therefore has no bleached/brown discoloration like so many other old white vinyl Höfners. The vinyl has shrunk in some places due to age – I got it back into shape as best I could, but you can still see the wood through in some places. The binding is also all around the body and has no damage except for a glued spot on the underside. The rare celuloid pickguard has wear and tear, but is still in great condition and has no cracks. The lettering on the pickguard is still legible. 2 of 6 coils from the pickups was rewound by me. Pickups I have rewound are authentic. I use the same type of wire; the same tape and crepe material; the same direction of winding; same number of turns; Same assembly technique – there is no audible difference to an original. All pickups work, as well as every switch and rotary potentiometer. The electronics are original. The neck is straight and the fingerboard is free of dead spots thanks to the dressing and plays wonderfully
I gave the 188 a major overhaul. The lacquer and Vinyl was cleaned, disinfected and polished up by me. The vibrato was completely dismantled, cleaned, prepared and re-lubricated by me. Runs nice and smooth. Mechanisms have been dismantled, cleaned, polished and re-lubricated. All electrics treated, cleaned, checked and grounded controlled. The neck adjusted for a great action. Fretboard and frets dressed, cleaned, treated, oiled and sanded. The 188 is ocatve clean and setuped for a B E A D F♯ B tuning
