Beschreibung
Zur Abgabe kommt diese schöne alte in Sunburst lackierter Höfner 173 von 1961. Eines der ersten Modele noch mit dem alten doppelgefederten Vibrato, Pat Pending Pickups und mit der seltenen Höfner Abdeckung die oftmals bei diesen Modellen fehlt. Die Gitarre is pur-rock n Roll! Nicht nur von der Optik, sondern auch vom Spielgefühl und vom Sound her. Trotz der drei Singlecoils, hat die Gitarre richtig Brett-Charakter und liefert wirklich einen frechen drückenden Sound. Da ich ja auch viele Tonabnehmer neu wickle, muss bei dieser 173 auch gesagt sein, dass Sie noch die alten Pickups hat mit den schwarzen Spulenkörper, so wie Sie auch in den Typ 3 Tonabnehmer verbaut sind. Auch trägt zum Spielgefühl der neu bundierte Hals bei 😉
Die 173 ist von 1961! Entsprechend hat Sie Gebrauchsspuren! Es finden sich Macken, Dings und Dongs, Kratzer und Risse an Headstock, Body und den Teilen. Der Lack hat dennoch einen schönen Glanz nach der Restaurierung erhalten. Der Lack war am Korpus an einigen Stellen abgeblättert oder gebrochen. Aufgrund dessen hat die 173 eine partielle Nitro Neulackierung erhalten, wo ich Stellen ausgebessert habe, dennoch aber versucht habe den alten Charakter zu erhalten. Deshalb habe ich z.B. die Abblätterung auf der Rückseite komplett erhalten und lediglich mit Lack fixiert! Ich finde das Sunburst der 173 nun Wunderschön, erinnert schön an die späten 50er Jahre und die damals verwendeten Sunburst Töne. Das Schlagbrett ist im Super Zustand und hat einen schönen tiefschwarzen Glanz. Die Tonabnehmer wurden von mir neu gewickelt. Von mir gewickelte Tonabnehmer sind authentisch. Ich verwende den gleichen Draht-Typ; dasselbe Tape und Kreppmaterial; die gleiche Windungsrichtung; selbe Windungsanzahl; gleiche Zusammenbautechnik – Es gibt keinen hörbaren Unterschied zu einem Original. Wie bereits oben erwähnt, sind dies eines der ersten Diamond Pickups und haben im inneren noch die alten schwarzen Spulen, wie Sie beim Typ3 zum Einsatz kamen. Eine schönes historisches Höfner Instrument wie ich finde. Alle Tonabnehmer funktionieren, sowie jeder Schalter und Drehpoti. Der Hals ist gerade, wurde von mir neu bundiert und ist eingestellt. Leider fehlt der Vibratoarm – Ich sollte aber in naher zukunft entsprechend Ersatz dafür haben aus Replik hergestellten Teilen
Die 173 hat von mir eine umfassende Überholung bekommen. Der Lack wurde von mir umfassend behandelt, gereinigt, desinfiziert und aufpoliert. Mechaniken wurden gereinigt, poliert und neu geschmiert. Vibrato zerlegt, aufbereitet und neu geschmiert. Gesamte Elektrik behandelt, gereinigt, geprüft und auf Erdung kontrolliert. Der Hals eingestellt für eine super Saitenlage. Griffbrett und Bünde gesäubert, poliert, behandelt, geölt und Geschliffen. Die 173 ist Bundrein und eingestellt.

Generelle Information:
Es handelt sich hierbei um ein Vintage Instrument. Die Zustand Beschreibung entspricht dieser, wenn Ihr zu mir in den Laden kommt und das Instrument direkt mitnehmen würdet. Durch die Temperaturgradiente beim Versand mit Luftfracht, kann es zu Änderungen am Zustand des Instrumentes kommen. z.B. Celluloid Schlagbretter könnten reißen oder schrumpfen durch die Spannung. Ebenfalls könnten Tonabnehmer durch die Draht Ausdehnung und Schrumpfung Ihre Funktion durch lösen der Lotstellen verlieren. Ich bin bei Reklamationen sehr entgegenkommend, aber bitte beachtet dieses und erwartet bitte kein Neuinstrument.
! Anmerkung zur Corona Lage:

Up for sale is this beautiful old Höfner 173 from 1961, painted in sunburst. One of the first models still with the old double-spring vibrato, pat pending pickups and with the rare Höfner cover, which is often missing on these models. The guitar is pure rock n roll! Not only in terms of looks, but also in terms of playing feel and sound. Despite the three single coils, the guitar has a real board character and really delivers a cheeky, oppressive sound. Since I also rewind many pickups, it must also be said with this 173 that it still has the old pickups with the black coils, just as they are installed in the Type 3 pickups. The newly refretted neck also contributes to the feel 😉
The 173 is from 1961! Accordingly, it has signs of use! There are quirks, dings and dongs, scratches and cracks on the headstock, body and parts. The paint has still got a nice shine after the restoring. The paint was peeled off or broken in some places on the body. Because of this, the 173 received a partial nitro repaint where I touched up areas, but still tried to preserve the old character. That’s why I, for example, completely preserved the peeling on the back and only fixed it with varnish! I think the sunburst of the 173 is beautiful, reminiscent of the late 50s and the sunburst tones used back then. The pickguard is in great condition and has a beautiful deep black shine. The pickups are rewound by me. Pickups I have rewound are authentic. I use the same type of wire; the same tape and crepe material; the same direction of winding; same number of turns; Same assembly technique – there is no audible difference to an original. As already mentioned above, these are one of the first Diamond pickups and still have the old black coils inside, as they were used on the Type3. A beautiful historical Höfner instrument in my opinion. All pickups work, as well as every switch and rotary potentiometer. The neck is straight, has been refretted and adjusted by me. Unfortunately, the vibrato arm is missing – but I should have a replacement for it in the near future made from replica parts
The gave the 173 a major overhaul. The paint was extensively treated by me, cleaned, disinfected and polished. Mechanics have been cleaned, polished and re-lubricated. Vibrato disassembled, refurbished and relubricated. All electrical treated, cleaned, tested and checked for grounding. The neck adjusted for a super string action. fretboard and frets cleaned, refretted, polished, treated, oiled and sanded. The 173 is octave clean and setuped.

Information:
It is a vintage instrument. The condition description corresponds to this when you come to me in the shop and would take the instrument directly with you. The temperature gradient when shipping with air freight can lead to changes in the condition of the instrument. e.g. Celluloid pickguard could tear or shrink due to tension. Likewise, pickups due to the wire expansion and shrinkage could lose their function by loosening the solder points. I am very accommodating with complaints, but please note this and do not expect a new instrument.
