Hier haben wir einen fantastischen Höfner 185 Artist Bass aus dem Jahre 1962 überzogen im roten Vinyl. Das Model 185 wurde im Jahre 1962 eingeführt und somit gehört dieser Bass zu den ersten aus dieser Serie. Tollerweise ist dieser hier extrem gut erhalten und kommt live noch besser rüber, als auf den Bildern.
Das Vinyl ist sehr gut erhalten und und hat lediglich zwei winzige Stellen in der Nähe des oberen Cutaways, wo einmal ein Gurthalter befestigt war. Ansonsten kann keine Schrumpfung oder sonstige Beschädigung vermerkt werden. Der Keder ist ringsherum super erhalten, nicht vergilbt und nur an einer einzigen Stelle gebrochen. Der Hals zeigt keine Abnutzungen, selbst der Lack ist noch schön Hell. Das Schlagbrett zeigt einen unglaublichen Glanz und ist ohne Risse oder sonstige Beschädigungen. Auf den Bildern seht Ihr lediglich Staub oder sonstige Partikel, der Bass gehört normalerweise mit Handschuhen angelangt 😊 Die seltenen Diamond Bass Tonabnehmer sind original und unangerührt. Alle Regler arbeiten zuverlässig.
Da es öfters mal zu Verwunderungen führt – Der Steg ist bei diesen Modellen lose und die Volume/Tone Schaltung Vintage, dass heißt Tone und Volume beeinflussen sich gegenseitig. Vergleichbar mit einer alten Les Paul Schaltung.
Dieser Bass ist Aufgrund seines Alters und seines Zustandes eine wahre Seltenheit und lohnt sich auch als Sammlerinstrument.
Der Bass hat von mir eine umfassende Überholung bekommen. Mechaniken wurden gereinigt und neu geschmiert. Gesamte Elektrik behandelt. Der Hals eingestellt für eine sehr gute flache Saitenlage. Griffbrett und Bünde gesäubert, behandelt und geölt.

Here we have a fantastic Höfner 185 Artist Bass from 1962 covered in red vinyl. The Model 185 was introduced in 1962, so this bass one of the first in this series. Great that it is in extremely good state and comes across even better live than on the pictures.
The vinyl is in very good condition and has only two tiny spots near the upper cutaway, where a strap holder was once attached. Otherwise, no shrinkage or other damage can be noted. The binding is in excellent condition all around, not yellowed and broken only at one place. The neck shows no wear, even the lacquer is still nice and light. The pickguard shows an incredible shine and is without cracks or other damage. In the pictures you can only see dust or other particles, the bass should normally hold with gloves 😊 The rare Diamond Bass pickups are original and untouched. All pots work reliably.
Since it often leads to amazement – the bridge is loose on these models and the volume / tone circuit is vintage what means the tone and volume influence each other. Comparable to an old Les Paul circuit
Due to its age and condition this bass is a real rarity and is also worthwhile as a collector’s instrument.
I have given the bass a major overhaul. Mechanics were cleaned and relubricated. Electronics treated. The neck adjusted for a very good string action. Fretboard and frets cleaned, treated and oiled.
